Cataract services: (ADVANCE CATARACT SURGERY)
- Treatment of cataract is done by surgical removal of cloudy lenses and implantation of artificial (IOL). In surgery, a cataract is removed through a very small incision using a process called phacoemulsification. In phacoemulsification, cataracts are broken into extremely small pieces using ultrasonic power. The pieces are then washed out of the eye. The IOL is folded and implanted through a small incision.
- Our hospital has the latest optical biometry-ARGOS for the calculation of IOL power which gives very accurate calculation of power.
- We have high sophisticated phacoemulsification machine from the Alcon USA centration vision system it has state of an art active fluidics system. Which improves safety margin during surgery. It has also "OZIL"
- Technology (which avoids damage to other structures of the eye) phaco surgery with this machine is completed through 2.0 mm incision -micro phaco (MICS) Which leads to faster recovery.
- We have started the art version. Image-guided system. This machine takes high-quality photographs of the anterior structure of the eye, which are then relayed to the surgeon's microscope during surgery. This helps in increasing accuracy and predictability in key steps of the surgeon.
- This maintains physiological pressure inside the eye during surgery thus preventing damage to other structures of the eye. It has also OZIL technology which helps in removing rock hard cataract easily.
Our Advanced Surgical Technologies
MICS (Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery)(2 mm Incision)
- Minimally invasive technique with a small incision.
- Requires no sutures leading to quick healing.
- Suitable for various types of cataracts, including advanced cases.
Image-Guided System
- High-resolution imaging of the eye’s anterior structures.
- Integrated with the surgeon’s microscope for real-time guidance.
- Enhances accuracy in key surgical steps, improving outcomes.
Centurion Phacoemulsification System (Alcon)
- Active Fluidics™ Technology: Maintains stable intraocular pressure, reducing surgical risks.
- OZIL Technology: Efficiently removes even dense cataracts, minimizing tissue damage.
- Micro Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS): Phacoemulsification through a 2.0 mm incision, leading to faster recovery and reduced astigmatism.
Advanced Biometry with ARGOS Optical Biometer
- Uses 1060 nm Swept-Source OCT for highly accurate IOL power calculation.
- Faster and more precise compared to traditional biometers.
- Ideal for patients with dense cataracts, improving surgical outcomes
